Trace and Frank also did an evening Weinberg riffing performance of “The Mads are Back!” with Ed Wood’s low-budget film, “ Glen or Glenda” (with Wood and Bela Lugosi). Many fellow classic/cult horror film aficionados know about Castle’s trademark “ percepto” electric theater seat “shock” gimmick during the original theatrical release of “The Tingler.” The film that the legendary “Mads of MST3K” riffed was William Castle’s 1959 horror thriller for Columbia Pictures, “ The Tingler” (which featured Vincent Price, Judith Evelyn, Darryl Hickman, Patricia Cutts, Pamela Lincoln and Philip Coolidge).
18 at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick, Maryland I got to experience Trace Beaulieu and Frank Conniff’s live movie riffing touring show, “ The Mads Are Back!” The legendary “ Mystery Science Theater 3000” alums’ Frederick performance was their 100 th touring appearance. 18, 2017! Both Trace and Frank admired my official “ Svengoolie” “official chicken thrower” T-shirt! Several fellow attendees of Trace and Frank’s “ The Mads are Back” show also recognized the iconic Sven T-shirt! Woo-Hoo! Hooray! “Hi-Keeba!”
